Berry is happily living on a horse ranch with his new loving owner!
He was quick to make friends with the other critters.

Introduction
As so often happens, when I first moved to Santa Fe, fifteen years ago, I fell in love with the dramatic landscape and ancient history of human habitation. I'd like to share some of the places I've discovered. Here I will post a series of journeys I've made to discover this place. What I learn from the land finds its way into my paintings and my garden designs. I hope you will enjoy the rugged beauty of this raw land, and perhaps be inspired to step onto the less-traveled paths that lead into the wild.

Best dog ever! Her passion is to go on long walks. I feel safe when I'm with her. She always knows how to get back to the car.

My husband Steve
I fell in love with this rugged man, with whom I have struggled to keep up for over thirty years!
I have been creating artwork my entire life. I majored in art at UCSC, and have continued to pursue creativity in a great many different ways ever since. I paint mostly in oils and acrylics, as well as doing graphics. I have done everything from creating murals and canvases, to tattoo and t-shirt designs. I have a website with Cafe Press where some of my paintings are available printed on t-shirts and other objects. You can go to that site by clicking on my profile, below.
I am also a dedicated organic gardener, having created vegetable and ornamental gardens across the country for almost forty years, I strive to learn how humans can live upon the earth in a way which promotes life, balance, and beauty. This interest has led me to Permaculture, which I try to integrate with aesthetic consideration. I am available for landscape and garden design and consultation. My approach is to work in harmony with the givens of the environment, using strictly organic gardening techniques. I consider gardening another medium for my art.
We come to the end of our journey at a dry waterfall. The air is still and the silence is broken only by the calls of birds. This is just one of many hikes into areas that rarely feel human presence within a short distance of the city.
